Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, is one of the main electoral assets for her organization. She knows it, and that is why she keeps an eye on the leadership of the party, whom she accuses of having blown up the presumption of her innocence. It all started a matter of days ago, when several media outlets published that Génova maneuvered to try to 'spy' on Ayuso and his brother, something that the PP leadership has denied. The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, also rejected the same extreme. For months, Almeida and Ayuso have been fighting for control of the Madrid PP, whose congress is pending convocation. The reason for the disagreement could not be anything else.
The money. What was first questioned was a commission that the president's brother, Tomás Díaz Ayuso, would have received. First it was estimated at up to 280,000 euros. On Friday, Ayuso assured that it had only been 55,000 , that it had been perfectly legal and that it was remuneration for an essential commercial activity at the time. Ayuso's brother Turkey Phone Number List had collaborated with a company close to the president's family to buy masks for the Community of Madrid with the coronavirus crisis just beginning. Some media outlets, such as elDiario.es , also claimed this week that they were masks of lower quality than the one initially awarded by the Ministry of Health. The gap between Casado and Ayuso is not new.
It has been opened in the last electoral calls from which the PP has not always emerged triumphant. But not so many years ago, Ayuso herself was more Casadista than even Pablo Casado himself, president of the PP at the national level, with whom she held a meeting on Friday to try to remedy this conflict.
